How it runs

  1. Step 01

    Scope call

    30 to 45 minutes. We confirm the bottleneck premise and agree on what the deliverable will cover. You sign off on scope and fee before any work starts.

  2. Step 02

    Research and dig

    Typically 2 to 4 weeks. We work in the open: interviews, market read, ops review, whatever the diagnosis requires. Light weekly check-ins.

  3. Step 03

    Deliver the read

    Written diagnosis plus a recommendation. We walk you through it on a call. You take it. The work is yours regardless of what you decide next.

  4. Step 04

    Decide together

    If the recommendation calls for a longer project, we scope it. If it doesn't, we tell you who could help instead, or that you don't need anyone right now. No retainer pressure.

What does it cost?

Fixed-fee, sized to scope. We confirm the number before any work starts. The Paid Diagnostic sits well below typical agency or consulting retainers because the scope is bounded by design.

How is this different from a discovery call?

A discovery call is sales. This is paid work. You get a real diagnosis and a recommendation that's yours to keep, whether we work together further or not.

What if the diagnosis says I don't need you?

We'll tell you so. Often the recommendation is to focus on something we don't do, or to keep doing what you're already doing. Honesty here is the whole point.

Will this lead to ongoing work?

Sometimes yes, sometimes no. If the work calls for it and we're the right team, we'll scope it. We're selective about the projects we take, so this is a real two-way decision.

Who runs this?

Patrick leads every project personally, with one to two specialists where the work requires it. You're not handed off after the sale.

What if I haven't taken the free diagnostic yet?

You don't have to. The free diagnostic is a useful primer and saves us time, but the Paid Diagnostic starts from a scope call regardless.
